Imaging software migration,without losing a single X-ray.

Moving to DTX Studio or VistaSoft? We move every X-ray, CBCT scan and intraoral photo from your old imaging software onto the right patient, reconnect your devices and practice software, and keep your old archive safe.

Why it matters

Your image archive is years of clinical history. A migration done badly means missing X-rays, images on the wrong patient and devices that will not capture. Done properly, nobody in the surgery notices a thing.

What can go wrong

The six things we make sure never happen.

Most migration problems only show up weeks later, when a clinician goes looking for an old X-ray. We check for each of these before you go live.

Images on the wrong patient

Patient IDs rarely match one-to-one between systems. We map every record so each image lands on the right patient chart.

  • Patient ID mapping
  • Duplicate detection
  • Mismatch report before go-live

Lost annotations & detail

Measurements, notes and tooth numbers can quietly disappear. We test exactly what transfers and tell you before you commit.

  • Annotation check
  • Tooth & date metadata
  • Full-resolution originals

3D scans left behind

CBCT volumes are large and often stored separately. We move them in standard DICOM format and check they open in the new viewer.

  • CBCT & DICOM volumes
  • Panoramic & ceph
  • Intraoral photos

Devices that stop capturing

New software means new drivers and capture settings. Every sensor, scanner and X-ray unit is set up and test-captured before day one.

  • Sensor & plate scanner drivers
  • Pano & CBCT bridging
  • Test capture in every surgery

A broken software bridge

Clinicians expect to open X-rays straight from the patient record. We reconnect the bridge between your imaging and practice management software.

  • Practice software bridge
  • One-click image access
  • Workstation-by-workstation check

Losing your old archive

Records must stay accessible after you move. Your old archive is preserved read-only and backed up, so nothing is ever out of reach.

  • Read-only legacy archive
  • Encrypted backup
  • GDPR-compliant handling
How it works

Planned, tested, then switched.

A migration you can see every step of, with nothing switched over until it has been tested on a copy of your data.

  1. 1

    Audit

We look at your current software, archive size, devices and workstations, and what you want to move to.

  2. 2

    Plan

A written plan and fixed estimate, including exactly what transfers and a go-live date that suits you.

  3. 3

    Test conversion

A trial run on a copy of your data, checked against the original before anything goes live.

  4. 4

    Switch over

The final export and import run out of hours, so you open the next day on the new system.

  5. 5

    Verify

Patient and image counts reconciled, sample records checked, and a test capture in every surgery.

  6. 6

    Aftercare

Staff walkthrough, the old archive kept read-only, and ongoing support for the new software.

Software we work with

Move to DTX Studio or VistaSoft.

We migrate image archives from the imaging software UK practices use most, into DTX Studio or VistaSoft, and reconnect the bridge to your practice management software. Using something not listed? Ask us.

FAQ

Migration, explained.

Buying new imaging equipment too? See Dental Imaging Support.

Which imaging software can you migrate?

We migrate from CS Imaging, Sopro, CliniView, DTX Studio, Romexis, Examine Pro, DBSWin and VistaSoft, into either DTX Studio or VistaSoft. If you use something else, get in touch and we will check what is possible.

Will we lose any X-rays or images?

No. Before anything is switched over we count every patient and every image in your old system, run a test conversion, and check the totals and a sample of records match in the new software. Your old archive is also kept, read-only, as a safety net.

Will our annotations and measurements carry over?

It depends on the two systems involved. Some carry annotations, measurements and image adjustments across; others only move the original image. We check this during the audit and tell you exactly what will and will not transfer before you commit.

How much downtime will there be?

Very little. Most of the export and conversion runs in the background while you keep working. The final switch is planned for an evening or weekend, so the practice opens on the new software with everything in place.

How long does a migration take?

Most practices are planned, tested and switched over within a few weeks. The size of your image archive, the number of surgeries and the software involved all affect the timeline, and we give you a schedule up front.

What about our sensors, scanners and X-ray units?

We install the drivers and capture settings for every sensor, phosphor plate scanner, panoramic, CBCT unit and intraoral camera in the new software, then test a capture in each surgery before go-live.

Is migration covered by our support contract?

A migration is a project, so it is quoted separately as a fixed estimate. Once you are live, day-to-day support for the new imaging software is covered by your managed support agreement.

Planning a move to new imaging software?

Tell us which software you are moving from and whether you are moving to DTX Studio or VistaSoft. We will audit your archive and send a written plan with a fixed estimate.

  • Free migration audit, no obligation
  • Test conversion before anything goes live
  • Old archive kept, read-only and backed up
